I was going to make a post about America’s descent into an oligarchy. But the videos online of Ashli Babbitt getting shot and killed says it better.
So I will dedicate this post to Ashli Babbitt, a USAF veteran who served her country, and was killed at the foot of the senate chambers, hoping that her voice would finally be heard.
At the heart of civil disobedience is peacefully disobeying an immoral established authority, which is what Ashli was doing: she was not attacking anyone, she was not firebombing the building, she was not looting.
And a couple hours later, congress resumed counting, to cheers and smiles without the slightest mention of the American Patriot who had just died outside their chambers.
Appalling.
