Last week, I moved this site from the Digitalocean 512mb vps to Vultr’s 1024MB vps. Why?
- Price: For the same price as Digitalocean’s vps ($5), I get 1024MBs RAM. Try running yum update on a 512MB vps with sites loaded on it.

Yes, it’s all about performance/price. And double the RAM makes a huge difference.
In terms of UI, both digitalocean and vultr present a polished interface to spin up new VPS’s. Support is via ticket only which I expected. And server performance is as expected since they both are fortunately not using openvz but rather KVM, so overprovisioning is more difficult.
Overall, I’m very pleased with Vultr.
