A couple days ago, I made a Hipchat integration named Waldo. Why? Because. Lets take a look:
So what does he do? Basically, Waldo listens to all the messages in one of Hipchat’s messaging rooms. Once Waldo matches a text pattern, for example “/kvms” or “waldo help,” he can interface with our portal system via requests to update device locations. Pretty cool. The bot is written mostly in Javascript and uses Node.js and request libraries to send POST/GET requests.
Unfortunately, management found Waldo much less exciting than I did and he is disabled and currently resides in my github. RIP Waldo.
Hi Tommy,
Nice to see this new website! It’s been a while but I have fond memories of working with you. Keep it up!
